Lila Roz

A graduate of the Cours Simon with a first prize, Lila Roz and Hubert Humeau directed a theatrical and lyric company for fourteen years. Their creations and stagings of comic operas and musical comedies toured the great French opera houses (Marseille, Montpellier, Rennes, Angers, Toulon, Monaco…) and numerous festivals, including seven years at the Avignon Festival.

A whimsical performer in the lyric repertoire, trained in music hall, she continued with singing (jazz, blues, variety) and dance: ten years of modern jazz and ten years of tap dancing. In 2003, she wrote and staged « The Hunt for Man », a musical show in tribute to Boris Vian which she performed throughout France and which was hailed as a « Télérama Event ».

For five years, she worked regularly for France Culture on dramatic readings. She subsequently trained in the art of dubbing and was notably awarded the lead role in the South African series The Queen (Canal+ International) for some ten years.

She returned to sculpture in 2007. She trained in modelling, exhibited extensively in Paris and the Île‑de‑France region. Her work evolved from dreamlike figuration towards an abstraction of refined lines, in the tradition of Art Brut and Cycladic art.
