Dominique Meunier

Painter · Visual Poet · Essayist Dominique Meunier, born in 1966, lives and works in Franche‑Comté. A visual artist, poet and essayist, he develops a painting practice at the intersection of landscape, interiority and spirituality. Trained from an early age through contact with his mother, an artist, and later marked by professional experience in screen printing, he has developed a practice founded on mixed media techniques and the diversity of supports. A serious road accident in 2000, followed by a near‑death experience, constitutes a major turning point in his career. Painting then becomes a means of exploring differently the relationship to the visible, to finitude, to light and to the invisible. His work, which has been awarded several prizes, has been presented in various salons, solo exhibitions and events in France and abroad. The philosophical dimension of his canvases has fostered prestigious collaborations, notably with writer and poet Michel Lagrange (laureate of the Académie française and author known for his dialogues with major artists such as Pierre Soulages). His latest book, La Chrysopée verticale: le pèlerinage des racines de l'âme (2026), deepens the figure of the tree as a symbol of inner transformation, grounding and verticality.
