Avie Soldani

Of English origin, Avie Soldani has been painting in watercolour for over twenty years. Her subjects are always old and worn: she loves to highlight the poetry of simple things and the quiet beauty of ordinary subjects — a door, a shuttered window, old fishing boats. They have lived and bear the marks of time's passage. Through her works, she expresses the idea that 'Old is beautiful'. She uses 100% cotton fine‑grain paper and Daniel Smith or Winsor & Newton watercolours — transparent pigments that often granulate.
