Avie Soldani
Watercolourist
Of English origin, Avie Soldani has been painting in watercolour for over twenty years. Her subjects are always old and worn: she delights in highlighting the poetry of simple things and the subtle beauty of ordinary subjects — a door, a shuttered window, old fishing boats. They have lived and bear the marks of the passage of time. Through her works, she expresses the idea that « Old is beautiful ». She uses 100 % cotton fine-grain paper and Daniel Smith or Winsor & Newton watercolours — transparent pigments that often granulate.
